With our combined experience and knowledge of the construction industry and practices, our client engages an excellent construction team. Through the many projects we have worked on together, we have developed a cooperative working relationship, and have great respect for each other’s expertise. We work together to find a better, faster, and more cost efficient plan to do a project. We are flexible when it comes to materials, styles, and types of buildings we build. From a flat roof to a shingled sloped roof, from a brick exterior to an E.I.F.S. exterior, we have built it all. Examples of recent projects can be viewed in Markets.
L & L Contracting believes that owners should do business with contractors who invest in training and maintain the skills of their workforce. This is achieved through training by the Michigan State Certified Carpenter Apprentice Program sponsored by the Associated Builder’s and Carpenter’s Association.

Robert LaHaie
Senior Project Manager/Estimator
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Drafting Design, Lake Superior University, 1969
Position at L & L:
Started company in 1974. Currently, Vice-President and CEO. Lead Estimator, Procurement Manager, Manager of L & L Asheville, North Carolina Division.
Experience:
Has estimated over 3000 projects. Knowledge of what compromises a complete bid package and can anticipate possible weaknesses from drawings. Strives to save time and money by interacting with the design team throughout the project from beginning to end.
Jim Louisignau

Served in US Navy, 1967-1971 as Air Traffic Controller
Position at L & L:
Started company in 1974. Currently, President of the Company. Lead Project Supervisor, Employee Coordinator, and Quality Engineer.
Experience:
Worked on over 800 projects. Experienced with the supervisors and knows the capabilities of most construction companies in Northern Michigan. There are not many scenarios in construction that Jim has not encountered. He is a problem-solver and believes in doing things efficiently, and right the first time.
Matt LaHaie
Senior Project Manager/Estimator
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Ferris State University, 2000
Graduated Cheboygan Area High School, 1995
Position at L & L:
Project Manager, Estimator, Purchasing Manager, Administrator, Safety Director, Human Resource Director of the Cheboygan office.
Experience:
Began working for L&L in 1991, starting our as a laborer and excelling to Senior Project Manager. Matt has been a Project Superintendent on numerous projects and worked on hundreds of jobs. Possesses a rounded knowledge of field conditions as well as the latest administrative techniques obtained through ongoing education. Extremely determined and likes challenges. Matt also manages the main office and is in charge of the administrative side of L & L.
